Ms. Wheelchair Florida, Inc., is currently seeking participants for its 2017-18 Empowerment and Leadership Conference.
Contrary to the “beauty queen” image which the organization’s name might evoke, the mission of MWFL is “To provide an opportunity for women of achievement who utilize wheelchairs to successfully educate and advocate for all individuals with disabilities.” The program’s ultimate goal is to help women with disabilities find and harness the power of their voices to positively impact the disability community. Everyone has a story to tell and women have an opportunity to tell theirs through this program. This year’s leadership conference will be held from March 31-April 2 at the University of South Florida in Tampa. To qualify applicants must:
Be a women aged 21 years or older.
Be a U.S. Citizen.
Be a FL Resident for at least the previous 6 months.
Utilize a wheelchair for all community mobility.
Be able to make statewide appearances and fulfil the necessary requirements of a state titleholder.
